Warning: Magnesite and Howlite are two different stones with different compositions and virtues. This confusion has existed for many years. Most lithotherapy books and blogs confuse these two stones and describe Magnesite as "Howlite". Unfortunately, we have to add the name "Howlite" to identify these stones, alongside "Magnesite", so that you can find them in our assortment.

Its mineralogy
Magnesite is a mineral composed mainly of magnesium carbonate. Magnesite has a porous, white surface with black lines.
Natural magnesite is a magnesium carbonate and its gray-brown lines are due to traces of iron and manganese in its composition.
Mohs hardness: 3.5 to 4
Howlite is a calcium borosilicate containing iron oxides.
