L'Adamite
gemstones, minerals, on matrix

Adamite, which sometimes fluoresces under UV light, is not only a fascinating mineral in mineralogy, it is also considered in lithotherapy
as a link between desires and their fulfillment, witnessing the tangible expression of your identity.

What are the properties and virtues of Adamite in lithotherapy?

Spiritual connection - Inner revelations - Joy - Emotional clarity - Tuning of emotions and will - Honest communication

Its energetic properties in lithotherapy link Adamite to the luminous forces of joy, to the inner knowledge made possible by a spiritual connection reconciling will and vitality.

The origin of its symbols

The discovery of Adamite is fairly recent: it was identified in Chile in 1866 by mineralogist Gilbert-Joseph Adam. Its symbolic associations are therefore rather modern, its mystical aura reinforced by the fluorescent properties of its vivid hues, ranging from green to pink, violet, yellow and orange.

Spiritual benefits

The heart and will don't always mix and it's often difficult to see clearly what we want and what we really want. Isn't it said that we should be wary of what we want because we might get it?

There's a bridge to be built between your deepest desires and their fulfillment, a passage that would overcome what doesn't really belong to you, a pile of desires inherited from you and which are much more concerned with the acceptance of others than with your deepest self.

Adamite can be the vector of a spiritual connection with oneself in the quest to reveal your innermost identity. Where the sincere gaze is exposed to the loss of bearings, it becomes the symbol of emotional balance, promoting mental clarity and a sense of joy.

In times of fatigue, confusion and tug-of-war, aligning heart and will is a balancing act that requires overcoming wounds. The presence of Adamite will then be beneficial for achieving honest communication with your essence, for acting without losing empathy due to errors of judgment, or for realizing lucid and no less enchanting projects.

Consciousness can rise in its company. It will be useful in meditation, encouraging you to express your emotions.

On a physical level

There is no scientific proof of its effects on a physical level, but according to tradition, Adamite is useful against hormonal imbalances; stimulating the endocrine system, it helps with breathing problems and throat and heart problems.

Adamite mineralogy

Adamite - Zn₂(AsO₄)(OH) - is a zinc arsenate crystallizing in an orthorhombic system. It is a secondary mineral created in the oxidized zones of arsenic- and zinc-rich hydrothermal deposits.

The mineral may be fluorescent and contain traces of minerals such as manganese, cobalt or copper, which will determine its yellow, orange, violet, pink or green color.

It shares a similar structure with Olivenite and Zincolivenite, Adamite being rich in Zinc, Olivenite in copper, and Zincolivenite a mixture of these two minerals. Its crystalline variety is called Paradamite.

It is not very hard and should not be rubbed with other minerals: its hardness on the Mohs scale is 3.5 to 4.

It can be found on four continents: Australia, Chile, Mexico, Greece and Namibia.
