Gem silica
Gem silica or Chalcedony Chrysocolla, fine rolled stones from Arizona and Peru
The bewitching blue-green color of Gem silica evokes a blue lagoon with calm waters; it's a symbol of serenity, calm communication and emotional clarity in lithotherapy.
What are the properties and virtues of Gem silica in lithotherapy?
Origins of the symbol
Gem silica, silica in its gem form, is a variety of chalcedony containing copper and chrysocolla; the meeting of the former with the silica-rich solutions that gave rise to chrysocolla explains its blue-green color, similar to that of tropical waters.
Chalcedonies make the world a lighter place, a place to open up to new personal visions and those of others. Its symbol encourages exchange and understanding.
Chrysocolla, like Lapis lazuli or Turquoise, available in North Africa in ancient times, was related in symbolism and beauty to an ancient Egyptian divinity: the Egyptian goddess Hathor, symbol of love and protection.
