Hiddenite, the ''green Kunzite''
pendants, rolled stones

Hiddenite is a member of the spodumene family. Its sister, Kunzite, is pink-lilac in color. These two spodumens are ideal for use in combination, as their virtues are perfectly complementary: Hiddenite acts on the mind, while Kunzite acts on the heart.

What are the properties and virtues of Hiddenite in lithotherapy?

Emotional healing - Opening to love - Grief - Balance - Addictions - Stress and anxiety - Compassion

Origins and symbols

Its relatively recent discovery at the end of the 19th century by the American mineralogist William Earl Hidden - after whom it is named - explains the absence of early accounts. But, as a sign of the gem's local importance, the village where it was discovered was named after it.

Contemporary esotericism is rapidly popularizing it for its energetic strength and emerald-like color, but its composition is quite different - the spodumene of which it is a part being lithium and aluminum silicates.

Its benefits in lithotherapy

In lithotherapy, Hiddenite is considered an emotional healing stone, opening the heart to love, gratitude and generosity. It calms the mind, reconciling it with emotions and feelings.

Its profound action is said to have the power to make love relationships last. Perhaps because it adds a touch of reason when it's needed. And because Hiddenite is perfect for resolving sentimental conflicts, bringing understanding, objectivity, respect and forgiveness.

It gently instills the ease and confidence needed to express oneself for an exam, an interview, or to declare one's love.

Another virtue of this stone is its support following emotional trauma, loss or painful separation. It can accompany bereavement, the fight against addiction or anxiety-related disorders, providing the anchoring and balance needed to heal psychic wounds.

On a physical level

No established scientific proof, but a tradition and a reputation: Hiddenite is said to help stomach disorders, strengthen the thymus and improve blood circulation.

Hiddenite mineralogy

Hiddenite is a green variety of spodumene, a and silicate crystallizing in the monoclinic system, with a vitreous luster. The stone has a pleochroic quality: it changes color according to the point of view.

Its green color is due to the presence of chromium and sometimes vanadium.

Its best-known exploited deposits are located in Brazil, the United States, Madagascar, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Its hardness on the Mohs scale is 6.5 to 7 - it's a relatively hard and resistant stone, but beware: its perfect cleavage can make it sensitive to shocks.
