What are the symbols and benefits of marble in lithotherapy?

Stability - Strength - Resilience - Calming - Courage - Initiating change - New perspectives

Its symbols and meanings

Marmaros, in ancient Greek, meant "stone that shines": in antiquity, Marble was valued by the Greeks, then the Romans, for the erection of temples, statues and monuments - which gave form to an idea of purity, immortality and beauty.

In contemporary esotericism, it is an energetic connection to the origins and primordial spirits of the Earth.

Properties and virtues

In lithotherapy, the compact structure of marble, shaped in the depths of the world over thousands of years, gives it energies that are as calming as they are extensive, capable of accompanying changes as well as stabilizing their effects.

It helps to balance the emotions, reducing tension by refocusing the mind and bringing clarity.

Marble can accompany the revelation of your inner strength and resilience and, in so doing, help you to overcome emotions that may seem frozen by their painful effects. It will reinforce the self-confidence needed for personal transformation when it becomes imperative, during transitions and inevitable losses, accompanying mourning as well as the quest for inner peace and renewal.

It's a call to open yourself up to new perspectives, to accept and initiate change. It's a reminder of the courage to oppose creativity to what seems unchangeable, to see what you really want deep down. Marble can be your ally in welcoming happiness into your life!

On a physical level

Marble's physical effects are not scientifically proven, but they are the expression of a tradition that attributes it with immune-boosting and metabolism-stimulating properties.

Marble mineralogy

Marble is a metamorphic rock, produced by the transformation of limestone at high temperatures and pressures.

It consists of calcium carbonate; but, depending on the impurities in the original rock, may contain Diopside, Dolomite, Epidote, Tremolite or Serpentine. For the same reasons, marble can come in a wide variety of colors: white, brown, gray, yellow or green.

The most famous deposits are in Italy (Carrara), Greece, France, Belgium and Portugal.

Its hardness is between 3 and 4 on the Mohs scale - it's a relatively soft rock, easy to carve but sensitive to acids.
