The virtues and properties of Moss Agate in lithotherapy
Moss Agate is that breath of oxygen that does you so much good when you're strolling through an enchanted forest, it's the wisdom of water and earth, it's the mischief and magic of elemental beings. It's the beauty of the living world, the power and strength of life-giving nature.
The virtues of Indian Agate allow you to reconnect and strengthen your ties with nature. These bonds are precious for anyone on the path to inner peace and deep inner healing.
It reminds you of the womb you grew up in and the placenta that nourished you for 9 months, reconnects you with your birth story and helps heal the wounds associated with this stage of your life.
If you're a woman, the Moss Agate cares for your uterus and its wisdom reminds you that when you connect it to your heart, your uterus is a creative source of life in the broadest sense, that it enables you to give birth to babies, but also and above all, it enables gestation and the birth of the infinite possibilities.
This stone is an invaluable companion in women's medicine, because by working on the heart and uterus, it helps to resolve blockages, tensions or memories in these areas that could compromise the smooth progress of a pregnancy or childbirth, or be the cause of gynecological problems or pathologies, infertility, painful periods or difficult premenstrual syndromes.
Since time immemorial, women have used it during childbirth to remind themselves that they are sources of life and that they have within them the strength and courage to deliver their children and the placenta that comes with them.
After birth, Agate Moss protects the uterus and relieves post-partum pain.
It is a stone that can be of great help after a miscarriage, a difficult, traumatic or disrespected birth, in cases of gynecological violence, sexual assault or to heal any wound that "hurts the womb and the heart".
Moss Agate invites respect for all forms of life and everything that creates life. By connecting with the magic of life, marvelling at its beauty and respecting it, you become more grounded, more incarnate, more rooted in this earth. Your adrenalin levels drop, allowing your body to secrete oxytocin and endorphin in greater quantities, reducing stress, tension and anxiety in favor of serenity and joie de vivre.
On a physical level, this results in an improved immune system, cell regeneration, better digestion and a boost to your neural connections, making you more alert, focused and memorable.

Land and waterAgate moss in mineralogy
Moss Agate is a variety of Chalcedony belonging to the Cryptocrystalline Quartz group. It is hydrothermally formed and consists mainly of silicon dioxide. Inclusions of green chlorite filaments give it its color and the impression that it contains moss. When it turns ochre, red and orange, this is a sign that it contains traces of iron and manganese or magnesium and that an oxidation process has taken place during its formation.
The history of Moss Agate
Moss Agate has always been associated with the forces of nature, the harvest, elemental beings and fertility.
In the Middle Ages, it was common practice to place moss Agates in fields or hang them from trees to encourage abundant harvests.
In some parts of North America, it was used by the Indians as part of rituals to influence the weather and bring rain when it was needed.
It has also always been used in women's medicine to give strength and courage, support the uterus and relieve pain during menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth and the aftermath of childbirth.
