Sometimes confused with jadeite, nephrite, also known as nephrite jade, is a distinct variety of jade.
In lithotherapy, it is linked to healing of the mind as well as a beneficial action on the kidneys.
What are the virtues and benefits of Nephrite in lithotherapy?
Symbols
Nephrite has accompanied Asian and Chinese civilizations for 7,000 years.
She is a symbol of purity, wisdom and longevity.
Much older than Jadeite, it was used in funerary objects to protect the spirits of the dead in the other world.
Before the 19ᵉ century, jade and nephrite were considered the same stone. It takes its name from the ancient Greek nephros, "kidney" due to its traditional use in the treatment of kidney ailments.
Contemporary esotericism also attributes to it powers of protection against spirits and harmful energies.
Significance and spiritual protection of Nephrite
Its symbol of gentle and tenacious healing makes it an emotionally resilient stone, helping to bring peace and stability to the mind.
It symbolizes the "Middle Way" in Taoism: its Yin and Yang qualities are equivalent, favoring an optimal earth-sky alignment that will help relieve tension by bringing calm and serenity in all circumstances.
In times of stress and pressure, it invites you not to forget yourself and to preserve your identity. Nephrite can help you make decisions when you're struggling to make a choice, and give you the courage, stamina and creativity you need to face difficulties or great demands.
Its secure energy is also conducive to financial abundance and good fortune, and can be an excellent support for and whose fear and dread add to difficult obligations or pressures.
Its discreet and powerful protection can help nurture balance and self-confidence, warding off fear and mistrust in favor of fidelity in relationships.
On a physical level
Its physical effects are not recognized by science, but are the result of ancient lithotherapy traditions. Renowned as a symbol of health and longevity, Nephrite is known for its beneficial action on the kidneys, bladder and adrenal glands. It is said to prevent the formation of kidney stones and to help with cystitis, incontinence and enuresis.
It can also help with sciatica and other problems associated with excess stress and pressure.
