What are the properties and benefits of White Quartz in lithotherapy?

Purity - Clarity of mind - Spiritual elevation - Innocence - Wisdom and inner peace - Patience and reflection - Intuition

Origin of the White Quartz symbols

White Quartz - also known as Snow Quartz or Milky Quartz - is the most abundant mineral on our planet, and as such has been known to mankind since the dawn of time.

Among its most poetic legends is one dating back to around 300 BC, transcribed by the philosopher Theophrastus: the ancient Greeks deduced from its delicate and snowy appearance that kristallos was ice frozen by the gods for eternity.

In contemporary esoteric traditions, it is often associated with lunar cycles, innocence and the wisdom of the spirit.

Its virtues in lithotherapy

In lithotherapy, its properties are gentle but no less powerful.

While clear and translucent Quartz presents striking qualities, those linked to milky Quartz bring into play in their symbols rather subtle, nebulous and enveloping energies, which captivate with their purifying and spiritually uplifting effect.

The stone is thus linked to mental clarity, acting for inner peace, favoring emotional balance by dissipating negative and destructive thoughts.

In a state akin to regained innocence, she is a spiritual reminder of the power of patience and reflection.

Its stability can then help you perceive situations with hindsight and wisdom. White Quartz will be a tool for connecting with a higher self and the symbols of spirit guides, stimulating intuition to better grasp your own intentions, in times of doubt and confusion as well as in periods of transition.

In meditation

This symbolic and sacred role as mediator and guide to eminent states of consciousness can prove supportive in meditation practices. It is often used for this purpose and its reputation is well established.

Mineralogy of White Quartz

The term Quartz first appeared in 1505 in the writings of the physician Ulrich Rülein von Kalbe, and was later taken up by Agricola and Steno, who worked on the crystallographic study of Quartz.

White quartz is a variety of quartz with a milky or snowy appearance, due to the presence of micro-inclusions of gas or liquid, particularly water.

These inclusions scatter light and give the crystal its opaque appearance, often presenting a waxy texture if polished. Its crystal structure is trigonal or rhombohedral, which means it has three equal axes that are not 90° apart.

Quartz is the most abundant mineral on Earth, and is found in a wide variety of geological environments. It is mostly formed under hydrothermal conditions or in silica veins.

Its hardness is 7 on the Mohs scale - a hard and resistant crystal.
