Zeolite

Zeolite is the result of complex and equally captivating geological processes, combining volcanic ash and seawater.
In lithotherapy, it is a soothing stone, promoting clarity of mind and emotions.

What are the symbols and virtues of Zeolite in lithotherapy?

Purification and detoxification - Emotional release - Mental clarity - Soothing - Meditation - Spiritual balance - Letting go and welcoming the new

Its symbols

It was discovered rather late, in the 18th century (by Swedish mineralogist Axel Fredrik Cronstedt), which explains its lack of ancient myths.

It's an amazing stone, born of volcanic ash and seawater; its name, which comes from the ancient Greek "zeo" (to boil) and "lithos" (stone), recalls its astonishing ability to release water when heated.

Spiritual properties and benefits

In lithotherapy, zeolite is like a deep-sea sponge, absorbing negative energies, toxins and impurities like an energy filter.

With its microporous structure, it is a tool for purification and detoxification, eliminating emotional blockages and promoting mental clarity.

It is also renowned for its calming effects on the mind and for facilitating letting go and meditation. It can be a support for healing, for restoring a disturbed inner balance, or a companion in times of transition, for welcoming renewal.

What minerals should Zeolite be combined with?

To enhance its benefits in lithotherapy, Zeolite can be combined with minerals with complementary properties:

  • Amethyst crystals, with their spiritual dimension, can greatly facilitate introspection.
  • a combination with Calcite or calcium carbonate can help harmonize emotions and energy balance
  • the soothing protection of Selenite crystal can reinforce the purification of Zeolite in a living space or during a ritual.

Refilling and cleaning

How do you purify Zeolite?

Under the Full Moon / shape waves (flowers of life or sacred geometries) / fumigation (white sage or palo santo, between 30 and 60 seconds) / singing bowl, Tibetan bells or tuning fork, natural breath/wind / intention
Care to avoid
Avoid water - some Zeolite varieties can be sensitive to prolonged humidity.

Zeolite mineralogy

Zeolite is a group of hydrated aluminosilicate minerals formed in volcanic or sedimentary environments. Zeolite is not just a "stone", but a complex group of minerals. It consists mainly of silica, alumina and water, with cations such as sodium, calcium and potassium.

Its capacity for both ion exchange and adsorption (exploited in numerous industrial applications as a filter, catalyst or absorbent) is explained by a crystalline structure characterized by a three-dimensional network of cavities and channels.

Its best-known varieties are Clinoptilolite, Chabazite, Phillipsite and Mordenite.

Natural Zeolite deposits can be found in many silica-rich volcanic and sedimentary regions. These include the USA, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, China, India and New Zealand; and in Europe, Italy and Greece.

Depending on its composition, Zeolite hardness ranges between 3.5 and 5 on the Mohs scale. It's a relatively soft stone that needs to be handled with care to avoid scratches and breaks.
