Mineralogy
Raw Angelite is a variety ofAnhydrite: it is an anhydrous calcium sulfate created by the alteration of gypsum under the effect of pressure and high temperatures.
Its orthorhombic crystalline structure, cleavage and vitreous splinters bear witness to an ancient formation that has seen its ancient waters evaporate and its volume change. Its color can be light blue, gray, or even pink or violet.
It can be found in Europe (in Germany, Great Britain and Poland), North Africa (in Egypt or Libya) or in various parts of the Americas (Mexico, Dominican Republic or Peru).
