Instructions for use
Smudge ball
Light your smudge ball and place it on its flat side on a heat-resistant surface. Carefully extinguish the flame when smoke appears. Let the smoke spread around the room or around a person. You can either leave the smudge ball to burn on a stand in one place, or move it around using a suitable support to avoid burning yourself. Once the smudge ball is completely burnt out, let it cool down completely before throwing it away. Finally, open the windows wide to ventilate the room.
Sahumitos
Hold the bundle by the visible string and light the end by blowing on the embers. Let the smoke spread throughout the space; you can carry the bundle in your hand or place it on a heat-resistant support. Some plants burn more slowly than others and it may be necessary to blow on the embers regularly for optimum combustion. To extinguish it, crush it on sand or let it burn out completely on a suitable support. To purify a room, move your bundle around so that the smoke permeates every corner, wall and object in the room. Start from the east, turning clockwise. To harmonize a person's energies, pass the bundle around them from head to foot, from the front and then from the back. The person receiving the smudge stands with arms outstretched and eyes closed.
Incense stick
Hold your stick by the part where the wood is visible and light the other end. When your stick makes a flame, blow on it to extinguish it and fan the embers. Plant your incense on a suitable support (classic incense-holder with a hole for planting, or a pot filled with sand) and let it burn.
Incense Pyramid
Place your incense pyramid on a suitable incense holder or heat-supporting surface. Light the tip and extinguish the flame by blowing on the embers to fan the flame. Let your pyramid burn down completely and don't touch it until it has cooled.
Precautions
Valid for all types of fumigation (incense, plants, sticks, resins, wood, etc. natural or not)
- Always air the room thoroughly.
- Place your incense out of the reach of children and pets, on a suitable heat-sensitive support and away from anything flammable.
- Never leave incense burning unattended.
- Do not inhale smoke directly.
Frankincense is not recommended for pregnant women and can be dangerous for people with respiratory problems, babies, asthmatics and small animals.
