What are the lithotherapy properties of your Larvikite pendant?

Anchoring and stability - Concentration, memory and clarity of mind - Protection from negative energies - Support in times of change

To delight the eye and the mind, Larvikite's black and grey hues are imbued with a unique bluish and silvery sheen. In mineralogy, this beautiful optical effect is known as the Schiller effect.

In addition to its aesthetic joy and voluptuousness, this stone has powerful lithotherapy properties, capable of strengthening courage in the face of adversity.

Symbols of telluric force

Linked to the Earth by its deep and distant origins - Larvikite is thought to have formed over 295 million years ago at great depths - its strength associates it with natural elements conducive to anchoring and stability.

Its protective virtues in lithotherapy are said to ward off all bad influences and negative energies, favoring peace of mind and a greater readiness for reflection, concentration and clarity of thought.

The purifying stone can therefore help us to work with our thoughts, keeping sources of stress and anxiety at bay. The balance it proposes could then have a dual function: both nurturing the courage necessary for resilience and protecting the mental strength that enables us to assimilate change, to transform ourselves, integrating maturity with the help of its accompaniment.

With the support of this symbolic guardian of your equilibrium, who preserves your stability and nurtures your courage in the face of hardship, it can become easier to leave the past behind and project yourself into the future. It's not just up to you whether your plans come to fruition; what's essential is your strength in the face of adversity.

Mineralogy of your Larvikite pendant necklace

Larvikite consists mainly of alkali feldspars, especially anorthoclase and oligoclase, but also contains mafic minerals (Augite, Hornblende) and, possibly in very small quantities, Olivine, Magnetite, Apatite and Nepheline.

Its crystals were formed at great depths (around 30 km underground) 295 million years ago, in magmatic contexts linked to the break-up of the ancient super-continent Pangea.

Its iridescent blue-silver reflections are characteristic of the optical effect known as the Schiller effect, due to the presence of Labradorite exsolutions in feldspar crystals.

It originates from the Larvik region of Norway, from which it takes its name.

According to the Mohs scale, its hardness ranges from 6 and 6.5.
