What are the properties and benefits of a Malachite pendant?

Energy protection - Awakening/transformation - Emotional release and healing - Self-esteem

What are the lithotherapy virtues of a Malachite pendant?

The stone's deep-green strata form spirals of grace and beauty. In lithotherapy, they signify the many layers that make up a multi-faceted consciousness that must always reconcile and integrate.

Malachite is a protector of quests for healing and transformation of the spirit.

Historically, since the dawn of human history, it has been associated with fertility - in every sense of the word, both as a metaphor for what is in motion and produces something new, and with motherhood.

It thus invites those seeking to free themselves from the weight of the past and to grow spiritually, to look within to understand who you really are. This is not without its perils: we are reminded of Nietzsche's warning that "to look into the abyss is to become the abyss".

So Malachite can become a protective companion on the path to awakening, illuminating your depths on the way to reconciling opposites. Without losing sight of the fact that, whatever your anxieties, releasing your conflicting emotions is tantamount to recognizing your integrity. The important thing is not your problems, but the answer you put on the balance.

Greenstone offers a new way of looking at things, one that really belongs to you. Rid yourself of imaginary guilt, often the fruit of a family history, and integrate what you may have neglected, scorned or despised. To heal your fears, revitalizing your thinking and expression through action on the world, which becomes a mirror of your transformation.

Through a new access to your essence, the virtues of Malachite can be those of a mentor who will open your eyes to your own merits, to the value of self-love; to dare to show yourself to others as you really are, establishing fair and empathetic relationships.

Physical effects

While there is no scientific proof of Malachite's physical effects, according to tradition it can be an effective painkiller and anti-inflammatory. For women, it can ease the pain of menstruation and childbirth. As a result, it has been dubbed the "midwife's stone", particularly in Germany.

Malachite has a high copper content, making it effective for the proper circulation of energies in the body: it could alleviate blockages causing aches or deep discomfort.

Be careful, however, not to ingest malachite powder or elixir, as it is toxic in this form!

How do you use rolled Malachite in lithotherapy?

It can be worn as a piece of jewelry right on the skin on a daily basis.

You'll need to load/purify it often - tradition says it's generous. Never immerse it in water. Malachite's color and brilliance can deteriorate on contact with water - and sometimes with the acidity of perspiration.

Mineralogy of your Malachite pendant necklace

This magnificent green stone is found in clusters, which are then polished to reveal Malachite's beautiful shades of green and soft spiral patterns.

Carbonic acid-laden water filters into the rocks and oxidizes the copper, creating a copper hydrocarbonate - in other words, malachite.

Azurite, which is often found nearby, can itself become malachite through water absorption.

Its origins are varied. Most of the production comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Russia, Namibia, Australia and the United States.

Its density is between 3.6 and 4.0. Its hardness on the Mohs scale of 3.5 to 4 is relative.

It does not appreciate being put under water, which can be a source of deterioration.
