Its mineralogy
Essentially, Ancestralite is a mineral from Brazil (Minas Gerais region).
It is a variety of hematite containing silicon dioxide in its composition, which forms in the earth's depths under high pressure and oxygen activity.
Its dark gray or silvery color, sometimes with reddish hues and bands of metallic speckled lustre on the surface, is due to its high iron content. Hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale.
