What are the uses and benefits of Armenian paper?

This flameless burning paper purifies, deodorizes and perfumes the home with a delicate note of benzoin and vanilla, or a floral version of rose.

Origin

This natural air freshener was created in France in 1885 by chemists Auguste Ponsot and Henri Rivier following a trip to Armenia, where benzoin purification was a tradition at the time. They invented a burning paper impregnated with this aromatic resin from Laos and releasing a sweet and unique fragrance, to a recipe unchanged to this day. Its slow combustion is due to the paper being soaked in a saline solution, then soaked and dried.

Use

This home and room fragrance is designed to eclipse unpleasant odors, such as those of animal origin, from burning fats like oil, or even strong odors - like tobacco.

To purify and perfume the air in any room of the house, simply detach one of the three strips from a sheet of Armenian paper and fold it accordion-style, then light it over a heat-resistant surface. Then blow gently on the flame to dim it and allow the fragrant leaf to burn slowly, producing its deodorizing effect.

You can also get rid of bad smells from cupboards or tirois by simply storing your Armenian leaf notebook inside.

Benefits

Its woody scents of benzoin and vanilla - with some adding a touch of chocolate or caramel - are unrivalled in their sweetness.

Aromas

Papier d'Arménie - Tradition
Benzoin resin extracted from styrax officinalis: soft vanilla and warm woody and balsamic notes
Papier d'Arménie - Rose
Natural essences are added to benzoin resin for a fragrance with notes of balsamic, sugar or caramel, vanilla and fresh rose.
You can find the delicious Tradition scent among our scented candles in our Armenian paper scented candles.

Antimites?
In addition to its deodorizing, relaxing and purifying effects, benzoin resin has its own insecticidal properties. But not necessarily very strong ones. Armenian paper can therefore be used in conjunction with other products to keep moths away from storage units.

Precautions for use

Used correctly, Armenian paper is safe.
This should mean moderate use - burning no more than three to four strips a week in any one room.

The living area must be well ventilated after use.
