Mineralogy
A member of the silicate family, Angelite is a blue, grey and white variety of Anhydrite.
Our knowledge of this stone is not very old, as it was only discovered in Peru in the late 1980s.
This sulfate is formed when gypsum dries by evaporation. It is found in sedimentary rocks and salt deposits.
Tabular or massive, with a crystalline structure of four oxygen atoms around one sulfur atom, Angelite crystals and a hardness of 3.5 and a density of 2.9-3.0.
