What are the meanings and virtues of a Lapis lazuli bracelet?

Protection - Connection to intuition and creativity - Metamorphoses - Wisdom and self-knowledge - Oral expression and communication

This fine stone has been appreciated by designers for thousands of years. No doubt its beauty has a lot to do with it, but Lapis lazuli's rarity and fascination have surrounded it with a mystical aura linked to an imaginary world rich in symbolism.

Intuition

In lithotherapy, the gem accompanies us on the path of spiritual and creative evolution. Lapis lazuli will be as much a guide for the artist as for the shaman, and for all those who undertake an inner journey in search of change and spiritual metamorphosis.

Its vision points the way to inner change. Beyond reflection, the stone invites you to connect with your intuition, to rendezvous with self-knowledge. This spiritual quest is in itself an opening of the mind.

Transformation is a search for and a demand for authenticity. It's the expression of a desire to leave behind the false pretenses that were forcing our nature and desire for emancipation into the shadows. Attempting to overcome fear also means turning the page on a register which, under the guise of protecting us, hindered the distancing of the inevitable pains of the spirit.

The quest for a new equilibrium can rely on instinct and intuition, which elaborate matter through action. The stone seems to tell us that to change the world is to change the mind. New perspectives present themselves, making us re-examine the values we used to disdain, and perhaps in fact misunderstand.

The exchange, to which Lapis lazuli contributes, reveals with stone the importance of expression and communication, a means of sacrificing the old and recognizing the new. Here comes the awareness that shyness or arrogance, inhibition or control, as well as old conflicting relationships with self and the world, show themselves as two poles, two opposites that need to be reconciled. If intolerance prevented us from growing, independence manifests itself in a new relationship with others, more open and impervious to their gaze, as equals.

In this way, pain, inevitable as it is, can integrate fear with beauty, finding its way into a just gesture, an artistic or spiritual creation that soothes and creator and recipient. The blue stone path is one of individuation, generosity and emancipation.

Mineralogy of your bracelet

Lapis lazuli is a metamorphic rock of Tertiary formation, belonging to the feldspathoid family and composed mainly of silicates. Its hardness of 5 to 5.5 on the Mohs scale defines it as a stone to be treated with care.

The presence of deposits is best documented in Afghanistan and Chile. Minor veins are found in the USA and Canada, as well as in Burma and Russia.

False Lapis lazuli are very numerous: the utmost vigilance is called for.
