What are the lithotherapy virtues of a Larvikite bracelet?

Larvikite's powers in lithotherapy relate to protection, anchoring and purification.

No doubt the symbols of Larvikite, linked to the Earth and the blessings of nature, are related to its origins deep in the Earth's crust - where it was formed hundreds of millions of years ago at depths of tens of thousands of meters.

The stone, discovered in Norway in the 19th century, has a unique structure with iridescent sparkles of the most beautiful effect. But beyond its graceful, intriguing beauty, its charm is matched in lithotherapy by a protective effect conducive to anchoring and purification.

Stabilité and courage

The stone is a reminder that a solid foundation can be the key to autonomy. If in physical reality you can't build on shifting sands, the same applies to integrating the contradictions of the mind. Earthworks are necessary for the structure of a house, just as the reconciliation of opposites lays the foundations for your growth as a human being.

To do this, we need to extract ourselves from the negative influences that blur our view of who we really are. By keeping these harmful energies at a safe distance, this stone encourages calmer reflection. In lithotherapy, the stability it promotes enables us to work on memory and projection, which in turn promotes concentration and clarity of thought.

Stress and anxiety can be relieved, freeing up the mental space to triumph, not always over every trial of life - existence is such that sometimes you win, sometimes you lose - but with the weapons to overcome failure and resentment, the inescapable pain. This courage will be nurtured by the support of a stone like Larvikite, whose comfort can stimulate a mature vision in times of change, helping you to accept and take advantage of the transformations of reality.

Mineralogy of your Larvikite bracelet

Larvikite is a magmatic rock sometimes mistakenly confused with Larkivite or Dark Labradorite, the latter, unlike Larvikite, having no scientific existence, being only a type of Labradorite.

Their similar iridescent flashes are the source of this confusion, but their mineralogical composition is distinct. Larvikite is a variety of Monzonite containing alkali feldspar, while Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar belonging to the anorthite series.

Larkivite's blue-silver reflections are due to the interference of light in the feldspar lamellae.

The volcanic origin of this stone dates back to the Permian period, around 295 million years ago, at a depth of around 30 km, when the Oslo region of Norway was formed.

It is used in architecture for its aesthetic qualities and resistance (the UN headquarters in New York is a fine example), as well as for ornamentation, jewelry and lithotherapy, for its protective and anchoring properties.

Its hardness on the Mohs scale is 6 - 6.5.
