The Nundérite
rolled gemstones, pierced stone pendants and silver 925

Nunderite is a rare stone, little known and documented. Combining Aegirine and Orthose, it comes exclusively from Australia.
In lithotherapy, its virtues are anchoring, balance and harmony.

Nundérite in lithotherapy: what are its meanings and benefits?

Soothing and inner security - Patience - Compassion - Mental clarity - Energy release - Serene concentration - Emotional stability

Nundérite symbols

Nunderite's mottled appearance comes from two minerals: Aegirine for the green and Orthose for the brown. Its relatively recent discovery dates back to the 1960s in Nundora, New South Wales, Australia.

Its legend as well as its symbols of stability and harmony are therefore contemporary, its two shades evoking a connection to the Earth and to original energies.

Properties and virtues and spiritual

Linked in lithotherapy to the heart chakra and the root chakra, Nundérite acts respectively to stabilize emotions and anchor, in a quest for connection, balance and reconciliation between feelings and reality.

Reinforcing the feeling of inner security, its action soothes anxiety by helping to bring destructive emotions to light at their source.

Negativity and stress are a false protection, an attempt to keep you at a distance from the implications of transition and change. But in trying to protect itself, the mind can fall into its own trap, freezing into an identification with pain instead of welcoming the liberating movement.

The stone can then help you take the next step. Its grounding fosters patience, empathy and lucidity. Its calming will reinforce the self-confidence and concentration needed to make the right decisions with serenity; and, by unblocking conflicting energies, to deal with past traumas with perseverance, strength and courage.

Nunderite mineralogy

Nunderite is a natural combination of Aegirine, an iron-rich pyroxene, and Orthose, an alkaline feldspar.

Nunderite is therefore classified as a mineral aggregation rather than a pure crystal. It appears as a compact mass with no clear cleavage, but may fracture irregularly. Its patterns are speckled with green and brown.

The only known deposit is in Australia.

Its hardness on the Mohs scale varies between 6 and 6.5 - a relatively resistant stone.
