The Shiva Lingam

It's a stone that once naturally had this shape and could be collected from a sacred Indian river. Since then, the region has been flooded by dam construction and the Shiva Lingams we find are no longer cut and polished by river water but by man.

The virtues and properties of the Shiva Lingam in lithotherapy

The etymology of its Sanskrit name is "Shiva's phallus" and "Shiva's clitoris", lingam designating both phallus and clitoris. Shiva/shakti are the very symbol of the union of the sacred masculine and the sacred feminine.

A Shiva Lingam helps to heal wounds related to masculine and feminine energies (manipulation, domination, violence, abuse of power, destructive patriarchy, etc.), to balance Yin/Yang polarities and to explore the sacred part of the masculine and feminine.

It's a stone that encourages us to "do the right thing", rather than wasting our energy constantly "reacting against". It helps us to be vertical, with our feet firmly planted in the earth and to welcome the union of opposites that make us the wonderful beings we are.
