Virtues, benefits and properties of Tiger's Eye in lithotherapy

Self-confidence - Protection - Mirror - Affirmation - Awareness - Clarity - Courage - Strength - Territory - Perseverance - Autonomy - Determination

The Tiger's Eye works on your anchoring and your ability to radiate the being you are.

It's a stone that carries a solar, yang energy, which can help you achieve your goals with perseverance, courage, autonomy and determination. It urges you to be adventurous and encourages you to dare to overcome your fears or shyness and not to give up as soon as an obstacle or risk appears in your path. Her company can boost your self-confidence and help you realize your full potential.

For thousands of years, tiger's eye has had the reputation of protecting against negative energies, evil spells, black magic and the evil eye. This is because the stone acts as a kind of "refractory mirror shield", reflecting harmful energy back to its sender.

If you're the sender, what you've directed at others will also be reflected back at you and you'll have an opportunity to become aware of a part of yourself that you may not wish to see. Nobody likes to see their own shadows, but it's a necessary step if you want your radiance to be authentic and respected. If you're looking for a stone that will simply invite you to shine and boost your self-confidence and attract good luck without having that "mirror shield" effect, I recommend Citrine, which you can discover here.

If the sender is an outsider, his or her attacks won't reach you or will reach you less, which is welcome if you often have to deal with manipulative or judgmental people, or when you're subjected to attacks that resemble black magic.

What's more, by helping you work on your grounding and self-confidence, the wisdom of the Tiger's Eye can help you realize that the best protection against negative energies is your inner strength, your determination, your ability to set your framework and defend your territory and that you're quite capable of protecting yourself on your own.

Tiger's eye, red jasper and hematite are present in iron eye.

On a physical level, Tiger's Eye can aid digestion and relieve stomach acid problems and support the body in the event of illness or weakness due to a cold.

How do I use a tiger's eye?

  • You can wear the Tiger's Eye as an amulet for its protective virtues whenever you feel it's necessary.
  • Place a Tiger Eye on your solar plexus to aid digestion.
  • If you have a project to bring to fruition or if an obstacle stands in your way, do a visualization session or relaxation with a Tiger Eye placed over your 3ᵉ eye before taking action.
  • If you're feeling discouraged, stressed or worried about your day when you wake up in the morning, have breakfast with a Tiger's Eye, or walk to work with it in your pocket.

Precautions

  • Tiger Eyes are not recommended for people who feel superior to others, as they may exacerbate this aspect of their personality.
  • In some people, Tiger's Eye can inhibit energy in the body. If this is the case, it is advisable not to wear this stone for several days in a row, or to wear it with a specific intention.

Where to place the Tiger's Eye?

  • Tiger's eye is an ideal stone to protect your home.
  • For protection, you can place a piece above your front door or pieces in the 4 corners of your apartment. For more complete protection, it pairs well with Black Tourmaline or Shungite. Tiger's eye is also said to protect against burglary.
  • For prosperity, place a Tiger Eye in your piggy bank, purse or till if you run a business.

L'Œil-de-tigre, for whom?

  • The Tiger's Eye is well suited to people who want to see the truth about themselves.
  • For and who feel they are victims of energy attacks such as black magic.
  • For people who are easily influenced, struggle to find their place, assert themselves and lack self-confidence.
  • For and who often see themselves as victims.
  • For children and adults who are victims of harassment and who often find themselves scapegoated.
  • As a support for committed people who want to do whatever it takes to succeed.

Tiger's eye in mineralogy

Tiger's eye is a semi-precious natural stone belonging to the Quartz group and the Oxide class. It's an iron-containing silicon dioxide (with traces of aluminum, sodium and magnesium), with magnificent shimmering yellow, brown and golden reflections. It is found as large, fibrous veins of quartz, never as crystals.

    Did you know?

  • Before he was Tiger-Eye, he was Hawkeye:

Tiger's eye is formed when Crocidolite, through penetration of hydrothermal solutions, is replaced by silica. Its fibers then take on a shimmering blue color and it's called Hawkeye. When the iron in crocidolite is oxidized, it forms yellow-brown-golden goethite.

It is this natural process of pseudomorphosis that transforms Hawkeye into Tiger's Eye. Aggregates of these two intertwined stones are common.

  • Crocidolite, which is responsible for its formation, is a type of asbestos. But don't worry, it's solidified by silica, so it's harmless.
  • The red Bull's Eye is a heated Tiger's Eye.

The Tiger's Eye story

Its name was given in the 19ᵉ century for its resemblance to the eyes of tigers after gigantic deposits were discovered in Africa. Following this discovery, Tiger's Eye was quickly and widely marketed throughout Europe. From the outset, this stone was very popular in jewelry for its colors and shimmering reflections.

But that's not where its story begins, because long before it was mass-marketed, tiger's eye was already renowned in the ancient world, in Mesopotamia, Egypt and among the Romans. Fragments of its history can also be found among the Celts, Scandinavians, many African tribes and even in Japan.

For the Egyptians, the tiger's eye is associated with the eye of Rã, the all-seeing eye, day and night, and in all civilizations, from ancient times through the Middle Ages to the present day, the tiger's eye is considered a stone of luck and wealth and as a stone of protection for places and people, which is and has been widely used to protect against black magic, aggression, theft or negative intentions.

Many warriors wore a tiger's eye amulet for strength and courage and, in Japan, the stone was ground and used as a pigment for paint.

Today, tiger's eye is a very famous stone, known and used all over the world. It can be found in all sorts of different forms at very affordable prices.
