The pendulum: explanations, advice and use

Antiquité - Radiesthésie - Géobiologie - Médecine douce - Soin énergétique - Usage personnelle - Vibration - Energie - Réactions neuromusculaires - Inconscient - Persévérance - Ancrage - Purification

We all know Professor Tournesol and his famous pendulum! This object may make you smile and but it's been used and recognized since Antiquity.

The use of pendulums or rods is called dowsing. Dowsing is the science of picking up or searching for objects, animals, people, sources, cosmo-telluric energy points, the stone or the remedy (alternative medicine only) you need at the moment, for example.

It is also suitable for finding the origin of a problem, indicating the vibratory rate of a person or place, helping us in our choices or amplifying energies.

A pendulum can be used in geobiology, alternative medicine, energy healing or for personal use.

How does the pendulum work?

In dowsing, we recognize that everything is vibration, everything is energy. What our conscious mind doesn't know, our unconscious knows by capturing these energies. The pendulum, as an extension of our hand, captures and amplifies the neuromuscular mini-reactions emitted by our unconscious.
It is these reactions that give movement to the pendulum.

How to use a pendulum

Hold the pendulum between your thumb and forefinger, relax and begin to tame your pendulum by asking it to turn left or right. Practice making it follow lines, shapes or a spiral drawn on a sheet of paper.
Once you're comfortable, ask the pendulum to say yes and then no. That way, you'll know that when it turns one way, the answer is yes and when it turns the other way, the answer is no. You can also use a dial: take a look at our divination boards and mats.

With a little patience and perseverance, the pendulum's movements will become fuller and clearer.

What precautions should I take when using a pendulum?

It's important tobe grounded, relaxed and free-spirited when using a pendulum, otherwise your mind may alter the answers.
Avoid asking questions about other people if you don't have their agreement.
Be as precise as possible in your questions.
Remember to thank the pendulum after each answer.

Purifying your pendulum

It is important to purify your pendulum before each use. If it is overloaded, it may not transmit information correctly.
There are a number of techniques available, but here are a few simple ones:

- Run the pendulum underrunning water

- Place the pendulum on a sacred geometry symbol (e.g. a flower of life or a triskel)

- Blow on it with the intention that the breath will purify the pendulum

- Place the pendulum on a cloth in a singing bowl and make the bowl sing.

How to choose your pendulum?

Choose with your heart the one that attracts you most, the one that pleases you!

If you're using dowsing dials or maps, a pendulum with a fine point is ideal for greater precision.

It is also possible to use a stone worn as a pendant like a pendulum, discover the whole range of pendants we offer in our online store.
