Preferably, avoid water, as chalcopyrite can tarnish when exposed to it. Smudging, energy patterns (such as placing the stone on a Flower of Life), wind or breath, intention, prayer, a chime, etc., are all suitable methods. As for the moon and the sun, you can use them if it feels right to you. Chalcopyrite is more of a solar stone.
