What are Plato's solids?

The Plato solids are a physical representation of the 5 elements using sacred geometry. They are named after Plato and his work on the subject.

For Plato, the world is made up of five essential elements: Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Ether. To each of these he associated a regular polyhedron inscribed in a sphere.

All polyhedron faces are isometric regular polygons: all angles are of the same measure and all sides are of the same length.

The only polyhedra with these properties are the 5 Platonic solids: tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, hexahedron and dodecahedron.

The 5 Platonic solids: symbolism, uses and benefits

Hexahedron: symbolizes the Earth and acts on the1st chakra. It has 6 square faces, 8 vertices and 12 edges.

It is the most stable of the 5 and is particularly well suited to strengthening our anchorage, our link to the earth, our incarnation. It helps us to accept the material world, to realize solid projects and put down deep roots so that we can expand our verticality with stability.

It is ideal for stress, scattered situations, lack of structure, lack of anchoring, need for protection and security, or anxiety.

The Tetrahedron: symbolizes Fire and is associated with the 2ᵉ and 3ᵉ chakras. Its 4 faces are equilateral triangles.

Laid flat, its energy radiates from its 3 outer faces and from the one below. It's a strong and energizing energy that invites earth-sky alignment. It is the creative fire that gives impetus to all creation. It transmutes our cold fire (destructive, reaction) into hot fire (creative, action).

It's ideal in cases of fatigue, discouragement, lack of motivation or desire, convalescence, etc.

The Icosahedron: represents the element Water and works on the 5ᵉ chakra. It has 12 vertices and 30 edges and has 20 faces which are equilateral triangles.

Like moving water, it unblocks situations by working on the emotions. It invites joy and allows energies to flow freely through the body.

Its waveform is a kind of transmitting and receiving antenna that enables better transmission of information, amplifies subtle energies and offers easier access to our subconscious and telepathic abilities.

Placed in a home, it simplifies relations between inhabitants and improves family harmony.

It is ideal for emotional instability, high emotionality, shyness, sexual disorders, sexual memory, appetite disorders, irrational fears and past traumas.

The Octahedron: symbolizes the element Air and is associated with the 4ᵉ chakra.
It is composed of 8 faces in the shape of equilateral triangles. It has 6 vertices and 12 edges.

It is linked to the heart area, the central point of our energetic structure. It promotes healing of wounds and memories crystallized in this part of the body and works for the opening of the heart and unconditional Love. It balances the yin and yang polarities present in each individual.

At its center, it amplifies the energies of the six directions: north, south, east, west, nadir (bottom), and zenith (top) and its wave form diffuses them through its 8 faces, stretching them. It is the union of heaven and earth, masculine and feminine, shadow and light.

Placed in an environment (suspended point down), the octahedron radiates energies of love, balance and peace.

It is ideal for wounds of betrayal, emotional loss and sadness. It teaches us to love and respect each other, and tolerance. It helps with syntax and oral expression of feelings and ideas.

The Dodecahedron: symbolizes Ether, the element that connects everything. It is associated with the 6ᵉ and 7ᵉ chakras. It is composed of twelve faces which are regular pentagons. It has 20 vertices and 30 edges and contains 375 times the ratio of the Golden Number!

Its waveform diffuses a powerful energizing and purifying energy. It's perfect for placing in water to purify it, or in a room to cleanse unwanted energies and maintain lasting energetic harmony. Sleeping with a dodecahedron promotes healthy and restorative sleep, stimulates vital energy and spiritual openness.

It is ideal for promoting meditation, acting on the aura and plugging any energy leaks, aligning and energizing all the chakras. During exams, research or project development, it stimulates intellectual capacity. It promotes cell regeneration and supports the body and mind in the healing process.
