What is a suncatcher?

A sun catcher is a kind of mobile made up of one or more elements capable of receiving and fragmenting sunlight to diffuse it in the form of a multitude of rainbow points of light.

There are many different types of suncatchers, the simplest being transparent balls or drops with a multitude of facets. The most sophisticated are made like mobiles with different elements, usually metal, colored beads and various decorative shapes: moons, suns, trees of life, flowers of life, butterflies.

They are also known as suncatchers, rainbow crystals or rainbow prisms.

A suncatcher is hung in front of a window or wherever it will be in direct contact with sunlight. Some are sold with a suction cup so they can be hung directly against the glass.
There are also suncatchers with a bracket so you can place it directly on a windowsill or table.

What are the virtues and uses of a suncatcher?

Highly appreciated in Feng shui, a suncatcher diffuses harmonizing energies into a room, helping to reduce any energy imbalances and allow better circulation of energies.
The diffused and dancing light invites wonder, brings clarity and adds a touch of magic to your interior and your daily life.

They are a marvellous source ofpositive energy, conducive to well-being and wonder, and good for both body and mind.
