Meteorites
chondrites, ferrous
Originating from asteroids, comets or planets, Meteorites are fragments of celestial bodies from the far reaches of the cosmos.
In lithotherapy, they are stones for expanding consciousness, inspiration and imagination.
What are the symbols and virtues of Meteorites in lithotherapy?
Symbols
They have survived their journey through the earth's atmosphere. In the human experience, Meteorites have been interpreted as a message or present from another world, divine or mystical.
They open up the field of possibilities, broadening perspectives on the future and suggesting answers about our origins. They bear witness to the power of transcendence for the human spirit.
Significance and spiritual benefits
In lithotherapy, Meteorite's mystical aura affirms the expansion of consciousness as a condition for the transformation and maturation of the spirit.
Its spiritual and emotional properties promote inner vision and spiritual guidance, an idea manifested in the metaphorical stimulation of the third eye and crown chakra.
In search of our share of the unknown, its meaning confronts us with that of the universe. Stone can support your quest for meaning by connecting you to the gods and the infinite.
Two powerful effects of introspection and openness can then manifest themselves - and bear fruit:
- You don't change the facts, but the relationship to the facts and the relationship of the facts. Action as an attempt to change the state of things can benefit from the emotional support of stone during transitions and crises, calming nervous tension and reducing stress and anxiety.
- This reinforcement of the pursuit of inner truth, through a connection to what moves beyond our immediate understanding of reality, enriches our relationship with our intuition. It is a gateway to the territories of the imagination and the powers of creation for researchers, artists and ordinary people.
In meditation
Promoting access to higher planes of consciousness and the immeasurable memories of the cosmos, Meteorite can also be a valuable tool for deep meditation.
What stones should a Meteorite be associated with?
In lithotherapy, Meteorite can be combined with complementary stones to amplify its effect, depending on the wearer's purpose:
- Amethyst or Violet Quartz, in association with Meteorite, can promote spiritual connection. Its inner peace is a tool for harmonizing celestial energies.
- the combination with Moldavite or Chysopalite will also intensify the spiritual effects of Meteorite
- Black Obsidian can facilitate and amplify anchoring and purification through a balancing effect with the celestial energy of Meteorite.

Meteorite mineralogy
Fragments of asteroids, comets or planets, Meteorites arrive on Earth after heating up on the surface during their flight.
Stony meteorites: the most common, they are composed of silicate and a small amount of nickel-plated iron. They may contain various minerals such asHypersthene or Orthopyroxene ,Olivine or Olivin, Bronzite or Enstatite, Serpentine or Chinese Jade, various Feldspars, Magnetite or Magnet Stone and even Diamond.
Stony meteorites have a hardness of between 4 and 6 on the Mohs scale.
Iron meteorites are made up of 3 alloys of nickel-plated iron: kamazite, teanite and plessite. They account for around 5% of all meteorites found on Earth.
The hardness of ferrous meteorites often exceeds 7 on the Mohs scale.
Pallasite meteorites are a mixture of nickel-plated iron and various minerals.
Pallasite meteorites have a hardness of around 5 to 6, depending on the proportion of Olivine and metal.
Meteorites are polymineral. Their crystalline structure depends on the minerals they contain. The crystalline structure of metallic meteorites is cubic (three axes of equal length, all at 90°), and can vary according to the silicates present in the case of stony meteorites, and combine those of silicate and metal in the case of pallasites. They may also contain rare elements such as chromium, iridium or gallium.
Their age can exceed 4.6 billion years: they are precious witnesses to the formation of the solar system.
