With its soft, pearly reflections, Moonstone takes you on an exploration of the wisdom of cycles.

Meaning of Moonstone
Moonstone teaches you to explore the feminine polarity of your being, your lunar part, its beauty and its magic, so that the alchemy can take place that transforms your wounded feminine into the sacred feminine.
The benefits, virtues and power of Moonstone
With Moonstone as your ally, you're invited to connect with the wisdom of cycles and integrate their precious teachings. To accept that everything is in perpetual motion, interconnected and that you can dance through your cycles, the cycles of life, of the moon, of time, of the seasons with fluidity. May this wisdom provide you with fundamental resources for walking the tightrope of your earthly experience.
Moonstone teaches you that your sensitivity is a strength, that you need not be ashamed or afraid of it. That your gentleness is a remedy for many ills and that it can be far more powerful than a thousand shields. That your intuition is right, you can listen to it, trust it and stop thinking or trying to control everything.
Life and cycles have their tricks, and only your intuition can be a firefly to light your way.
Its wisdom reminds you that there's no need to compete or fight over who's right or wrong. In every being and in every cycle, light and shadow and facets of every archetype are expressed. Who blames the tree for losing its leaves in autumn? Nobody, because everyone knows that the leaves will fertilize the earth and that if the tree kept its old leaves, it wouldn't have the strength to get through winter, bud, blossom in spring and bear fruit in summer.
Who reproaches the sun for shining after a storm?
Who is jealous of trees that bloom?
Who reproaches nature for resting in winter?
Moonstones, with their energies and their 4 main colors, can be associated with different stages of a cycle according to their color:
Pink, apricot or salmon moonstone: New moon, waxing moon, premenstrual phase, youth, spring, morning, girl archetype.
Pink, apricot or salmon moonstone possesses energies that are both gentle and energizing. It's ideal for stimulating libido, creativity and fertility and for embarking on a new project.
White moonstone: full moon, ovulation, adulthood, summer, middle of the day, mother archetype.
White moonstone invites you to develop your ability to welcome and listen to yourself and others. It cares for your precious sensitivity, helps you trust your intuition and has soothing properties.
Gray or brown moonstone: Waning moon, premenstrual phase, middle age, autumn, end of day, archetypal enchantress.
Brown or gray moonstone acts as a grounding that helps you unburden yourself of your tensions and release repressed emotions. It soothes frustration and gently invites you to look within.
Black moonstone : black moon, menstruation, old age, winter, night, witch archetype.
Black Moonstone sings of wisdom, magic and the depth of night, so that you no longer fear your shadows. So that you may dare to see clearly what's deep inside you.
Moonstone meanings for women and men
If you're a woman, Moonstone can be a precious support in all the stages and passages of your life related to your femininity: during 1ʳᵉˢ moons, menstruation, pre-conception, pregnancy, childbirth, baby moon, breastfeeding and menopause.
It is a stone that can help you to accept, explore and live the thousand and one colors of your cyclical nature, so that you can live in tune with your rhythms and use the power and medicine of this inner wisdom on all levels of your existence, whether in your professional, family, personal or social life.
If you're a man, moonstone can help you open a door to a precious part of yourself, inviting you to respect your own feminine energies and let them express themselves freely. It's an important step on the path to the "sacred masculine".
The virtues of moonstone for couples
Moonstone is an excellent companion for couples struggling to find common ground, as it fosters the ability to listen, welcome and empathize, while teaching how to speak with the voice of the heart and not with the often destructive voice of raw wounds and unresolved emotions. It also invites you to explore the Yin side of sexuality, for an authentic journey to the heart of sensual pleasure, listening to bodies and hearts, far from any notion of performance.
It is also a precious ally in reminding us how important a balance between masculine and feminine energies is in all areas of life. Perhaps if we slipped Moonstones into the pockets of those who persist in imposing a patriarchal society built on the wounded masculine and based on the notion of performance and domination, the world would be a better place. What do you think?
Moonstone's physical properties
On a physical level, thanks to its potassium content, moonstone regulates hormonal secretions, which is why it is reputed to relieve menopausal symptoms, menstrual pain and premenstrual symptoms, regulate menstrual cycles, be a valuable support during pregnancy, assist in childbirth and breastfeeding.
It can also help with endometriosis and infertility.

Moonstone is an adularia, a variety of orthoclase from the Feldspar group, usually magmatically formed, sometimes hydrothermally. Its pearly sheen comes from its albite inclusions. Moonstone is composed mainly of silica, potassium, aluminum and oxygen. It does not form crystals and can be white, yellowish, brownish, apricot, salmon, brown-black, gray or greenish, sometimes with a bluish sheen.
Did you know? Moonstones are found in abundance in the Swiss Alps in the Adula Mountains.
The brilliant white "rainbow moonstone" with its violet-blue highlights is white Labradorite or Peristerite.
The history of Moonstone
Moonstone has officially borne its name since the 18ᵉ century, before which it was Selenite that was named Moonstone. As the virtues of these two stones are similar in many respects and both have, throughout history, been linked to the moon, it is very difficult to trace the history of Moonstone.
Since ancient times, it has had the reputation of protecting travellers and was often worn as an amulet.
For the Sioux, this stone protected them from evil spirits at night.
In India and Sri Lanka, where there are large deposits of Moonstone, legend has it that these stones are crystallized lunar rays. They are called Shandra kanti in honor of the moon goddess Shandra. Kanti means "brilliant". It is offered at weddings to protect the couple and, in some regions, women sew moonstones into their clothing to promote fertility.
During the Renaissance in Europe, it was used to reconcile couples.
Today, moonstone is still appreciated for its virtues relating to couples, fertility and women's medicine.
