Frankincense and incense resins, powders, gums, chips in pieces, bulk, powder, grains and granules, tears and stones, with charcoal
Incense powders, shavings, gums and resins have been used since the dawn of time for fumigation, purification, rituals and medicinal purposes. 100% natural and fair-trade, here's a vast choice of quality original incense.
These different incenses are obtained from the resins of certain shrubs, such as boswellia for olibanum and commiphora myrrha for myrrh. They are used for fumigation on dedicated charcoal tablets. Our round metal incense holders and censers (which are also ideal for our incense powders, sandalwood shavings and bulk sage) are ideal for this purpose. Resins are also available in powder form.

Sandalwood has soothing properties that have been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Sandalwood is also appreciated for its aphrodisiac virtues, creating a sensual and erotic atmosphere.
How to burn resin, powder or shavings?
Grab your charcoal pellet with a pair of tongs to avoid burning yourself.
place your charcoal on a suitable incense holder, such as a round metal holder, a stone censer or an ashtray designed for this purpose
then place a few pieces on the central part of your charcoal pellet
Then let the smoke take effect, or take your censer into the rooms you wish to purify.
It's also possible to burn without charcoal, using an essential oil diffuser and a tealight. To do this, remember to pour a little vegetable oil into your diffuser before lighting your candle to prevent the container from splitting under the effect of the heat. This method and appropriate if you want to release less dense smoke, as charcoal produces a lot of it.
You can also burn the powder directly. Simply make a small mound in your incense-holder. Then light the top, let the flame burn for a few seconds and blow (very) gently on it until it goes out, releasing its fragrance.

History of incense
Originally, incense was used in the form of resin collected by incising the bark of the boswellia serratamore commonly known as the "incense tree". Incense was first used in ancient Egypt for mummification and medicinal purposes. These were raw, unworked incenses. Their use continued beyond the Greek and Roman worlds, as part of sacred rites. The resin is still used today in incense burners for religious ceremonies. Incense is mentioned more than twenty times in the Bible and the Koran, and was one of the gifts offered by the Magi to Jesus. It has been used for over 5,000 years in Ayurvedic medicine for, among other things, its anti-inflammatory properties, which are of growing interest to Western medicine.
